God is More Concerned About Changing Hearts Than He is About Solving the World’s Problems (present tense)
With all the trouble in the world today, it would be easy to ask, “Why is God not doing anything about it? Why is he not solving the world’s problem’s now?
As I was reading Psalm 92:4-6 it became obvious that God is working. His work makes us glad (when we take the time to look at things from his perspective).
His work makes us win if we trust him. The Bible word for this kind of winning is called “an overcomer”. 1st John 5:4 and 5 tells us that we are overcomers if we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and if we trust God actively. “this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”
I think that it would be safe to say, “God looks at the heart of people and of problems and is at the present time more interested in changing the heart than he is in solving the problems. This is not to ignore the truth that when Jesus comes back, he will solve the world’s problems. It just is not the time for that.
Isaiah 55:8 and 9, God speaking, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways, my ways, saith the LORD. (Our way is to focus on the outside and not the heart). For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
The world looks different from 30,000 feet above than it does from ground level and it certainly looks different from God’s dwelling place. The higher up you go in your viewpoint (the closer you get to God) the more you will trust in and rest in Christ.
Psalm 92:5 says, “O LORD, how great are thy works! And thy thoughts are very deep.”
