Christians can be so reactive rather than proactive. And in the process, they completely miss the truth. God is neither Capitalist or Socialist. Righteousness exalts a nation, not an economic system. In either system those who control the capital will either do well or terrible. Why is it that as we grow more and more socialistic more and more people are enslaved in lower income brackets and the gap between the haves and the have nots is growing out of control? It is because of sin in the heart of those with the capital. I would love to see a politician finish his career without becoming super wealthy because of his career. I don't care which party or leaning they have.
I find it to be incredible that many of those who criticize capitalism are heavily invested in it. Most of those that I know that are Socialist have expensive cars and houses. That is hypocritical. Also, it is kind of foolish. If "big business" fails then you lose your investment.
Capitalism in America has bought the courts and the banks. Corruption. Socialism is just as corrupt with politicians on both sides of the aisle being bought by lobbyist. History has demonstrated everything I just said, to be true over and over again.
Why does the heart always exempt itself from its own sin? I am so convicted by my own greed and am thankful that God has not only opened my hand to giving some of my extra, but also taught me to give some of my so called "necessity." To this day I am well fed and cared for. The Psalmist said, "I have been young and now am old and to this day have never seen the righteous begging bread." When you trust God with your substance you are righteous and God will feed you.
